We’ve gone green at Airpark Collision Center of Scottsdale

Airpark Collision Center Goes Green

Recently our body shop in Scottsdale, AZ has gone green.  Even though the economy is slow, Airpark Collision Center is committed to moving forward and finding the best ways to serve our community.  We are currently using paint products by PPG called Aquabase Plus.  This PPG product is Europe’s number one selling waterborne basecoat system.  Although the product is more costly, we love it because it is healthy for our environment and safer for our technicians to spray.

Our customers have commented on how well the color matches and like that PPG gives a lifetime warranty.  In addition to our water based paint products we also have two machines that control dust in our body shop in Scottsdale, AZ.  These machines remove dust, odors, smoke, voc’s, mists, spray powder, toxic fumes, pollen and bacteria.

Our body shop in Scottsdale, AZ continues to look for other ways to improve, we feel that making these improvements not only helps the environment but ensures that we retain highly skilled employees to serve our customers properly.

About Paintless Dent Repair in Scottsdale, AZ

“The most common methods of paintless dent repair utilize metal rods and body picks to push the dents out from the under side of the body panel. Additionally, glue and a specially designed tab may be used from the outside of the panel to pull the dents out. In either case, fine-tuning of the repair often involves “tapping” down the repair to remove small high spots, or shrink the metal, making the surface flat. Paintless Dent Repair may be used on both aluminum and steel panels. If a technician pushes too hard when creating these high spots, the paint will split and the repair is ruined. Quality technicians can use these high spots that are barely visible to match the texture of the paint.

Fluorescent lighting, or in some cases a reflection board, is used to see the shadows created by the deformation of the dent. This is an important aspect of the repair process. Without a Paintless Dent Repair board or reflector board, the fine detail of the process is unseen, and technicians cannot locate their tools specifically and cannot remove the damage accurately. The process of Paintless Dent Repair requires a technician to specifically push exact locations of metal to a precise height, which can only be witnessed with use of a PDR reading instrument, such as a Paintless Dent Repair reflector board or Paintless Dent Repair light.” – from Wikipedia.org

This January, valley customers can enjoy a professional detail for only $100.  Regular wax applications protect your car from the damaging effects of weather and UV ray damage.  Shield your vehicle’s paint job now, by scheduling a detail with Airpark Collision Center – your premier auto body shop in Scottsdale!

Here are some detailing tips to keep your car looking great:auto-body-shop-detail-scottsdale

Try to avoid scratches as much as you can.

Scratches are the worst enemy to your vehicle’s finish. Avoiding scratches is the key to keeping your car looking excellent. Dirt and grime, rubbed in while washing or drying your vehicle, will act like sandpaper and dull your car’s paint. There is one simple rule which will help you whenever you touch the surface of your car; Anything that comes in contact with your car’s finish should be diaper-soft.

Protect your cars finish from the elements and weather whenever possible.

Try storing the vehicle in a garage or covered parking area if you do not already do so. The use of a vehicle cover is extremely recommended. A vehicle that is regularly exposed to sun rays and other environmental elements will deteriorate faster and require significantly more cosmetic maintenance.

Make a regular commitment to detailing your car.

In the majority of cases, cleaning your car once a month is perfectly adequate. Once every couple weeks is much better and also necessary if the vehicle is regularly subject to severe conditions.

Save money with our lease return damage repair service!

Were you aware that you could be penalized for normal wear and tear to your vehicle when your lease is expired in Scottsdale or Phoenix? There could be extra fees and costs that you incur for lease return damage like scratches, door dings, bumper scratches, alloy wheel damage, and also for other interior damage.

Upon returning your vehicle to the Scottsdale or Phoenix lease company, they will hold you responsible for anything they deem as “excessive wear and tear.” If you allow them to use their own repair company to fix this minor damage, you could end up with a major bill anywhere from $700 and up in most cases.

Our expert repair staff here at Airpark Collision Center of Scottsdale and North Phoenix will look over your vehicle the same way the lease company will, and then provide you with a free estimate that will offer you a solution that will best fit your budget and needs. We repair your leased vehicle’s damage with precision and care at an affordable cost for you. Our ultimate plan is to restore your vehicle to it’s original condition. Here at Airpark Collision Center of North Scottsdale and North Phoenix, you can rest assured knowing that our paint and body technicians will exceed your repair expectations. Is your vehicle equipped with ESC?

ESC, or Electronic Stability Control, is now a standard on every new vehicle sold in the United States. Some would say this is the best advance in vehicle safety technology since the seat belt. Here at Airpark Collision Center of North Scottsdale and North Phoenix, we believe this is a major new contributor to the safety of your passengers. Experts in the field are saying it will potentially save thousands of lives. Your insurance company may even offer you a discount for having ESC on your car or truck.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety estimates that if every vehicle on the road had ESC, fatal accidents would be reduced by 10,000 per year. Its 2010 study found that ESC reduces fatal crash involvement on average 33% — a 20% reduction for multiple-vehicle crashes and 49% for single-car crashes. At Airpark Collision Center of North Scottsdale and North Phoenix, according to these numbers we agree that having ESC in your car is a great option.

How does ESC work?

A small computer checks signals from sensors, about 25 times a second whether the steering input accurately corresponds to the direction that the car is traveling. When it senses the vehicle traveling in the wrong direction, it reacts instantaneously, strategically applying the brakes and reducing engine torque to adjust the car back on the chosen path.

If you have the unfortunate experience of getting into a collision, remember Airpark Collison Center of North Scottsdale and North Phoenix is your premier choice in Auto Body and Collision Repair. Contact Us if you have any questions about servicing your vehicle.

Do you eat while driving in North Phoenix or Scottsdale?

At Airpark Collision Center & Auto Body Shop of North Scottsdale, it is our goal to not only repair your vehicle to it’s pre-collision state, but also to help you prevent accidents from happening in the first place. As you know, we have been servicing the North Phoenix and North Scottsdale areas of Arizona for several years, and have a commitment to providing you the best in collision repair. ”Most car accidents are caused by drivers not paying attention,” says Eric Bolton, a NHTSA spokesperson.North Phoenix and North Scottsdale Auto Body Shop

“Distracted driving,” is anything that takes your eyes and mind away from driving. This includes any type of food you may consume while in a hurry to get somewhere. When you are on your commute in North Phoenix or North Scottsdale, it is easy to get caught up in the bustle. Believe it or not, there are some foods that are more dangerous to eat than others while driving. Here is a list of the 10 most dangerous foods to eat while you are on the road:

1. Coffee: It always finds a way out of the cup.

2. Hot soup: Many people drink it like coffee and run the same risks.

3. Tacos: A food that can disassemble itself without much help, leaving your car
looking like a salad bar.

4. Chili: The potential for drips and slops down the front of clothing is significant.

5. Hamburgers: From the grease of the burger to ketchup and mustard, it could all
end up on your hands, your clothes, and the steering wheel.

6. Barbecued food: The same issue arises for barbecued foods as for hamburgers.
The sauce may be great, but if you have to lick your fingers, the sauce will end up
on whatever you touch.

7. Fried chicken: Another food that leaves you with greasy hands, which means
constantly wiping them on something, even if it’s your shirt. It also makes the
steering wheel greasy.

8. Jelly or cream-filled donuts: Has anyone eaten a jelly donut without some of
the center oozing out? Raspberry jelly can be difficult at best to remove from
material.

9. Soft drinks: Not only are they subject to spills, but also the carbonated kind can
fizz as you’re drinking if you make sudden movements, and most of us remember
cola fizz in the nose from childhood. It isn’t any more pleasant now.

10. Chocolate: Like greasy foods, chocolate coats the fingers as it melts against the
warmth of your skin, and leaves its mark anywhere you touch. As you try to clean
it off the steering wheel you’re likely to end up swerving.

If you currently are eating some of these foods while driving, we recommend you think twice. The numbers are astounding when it comes to these certain foods being the cause of accidents in North Phoenix and North Scottsdale.

If you have questions about how Airpark Collision Center of North Scottsdale and North Phoenix can help you with your vehicle, feel free to contact us.

Consumer Rights & Choosing Your Body Shop

Airpark-Collision-Center-8

ACC realizes that you have a choice when selecting a collision repair facility. We value each of our customers and work to restore your vehicle to its pre-collision state.

  • Insurance companies may recommend a repair facility, however your insurance company will still cover repairs at a shop of your choice.

  • The repair facility guarantees the repairs, not the insurance company.

  • Before you chose a repair facility ask yourself, what type of vehicles are currently under repair?  Are the technicians ASE or I-CAR certified? Did the estimator explain what work has to be done in order for a quality repair?  Think safety and aesthetics.  What level of service are current customers receiving?
